Mr. Blasberg's Best-Dressed List: New York Fashion Week Edition

Karlie Kloss in J. Mendel

Sadly for the rest of us (and especially for me), this was as close as my St. Louis sister, Karlie Kloss, got to Fashion Week this season. But even here, at a Runway to Win gala, which raises funds for Barack Obama’s reelection campaign, it’s clear to see what has made her such a catwalk favorite: Look at all those limbs and that adorable smile. While it may have been tempting to overdress for the president, I love the effortless grace that Karlie has here. She looks sweet, calm, and comfortable.

Dasha Zhukova in Nina Ricci

It was a question that a few people didn’t answer as gracefully as magazine editor, fashion designer, and museum founder Dasha Zhukova did during New York Fashion Week: With temperatures hitting below freezing, how to bundle up and look chic at the same time? It may be easy to wrap up in a big coat and lots of layers, but Dasha kept it looking chic while sitting front row at the Marc Jacobs show in a long-sleeved Nina Ricci dress, thick tights, and a cashmere scarf-cum-vest, which she belted for the full effect.

Rachel Zoe in Rachel Zoe & Reed Krakoff

Candice Swanepoel in Prabal Gurung

The New York catwalks saw some new queen bees this season. One of the most memorable was Candice Swanepoel, the incredibly hot and well-proportioned South African stunner
